Murrayfield Newsletter
July 22nd 2026
Principal’s Welcome
Dear parent/carer,
We have now reached the end of another school year, which means it is time to say goodbye to our wonderful year 6 children. It has been a pleasure watching you all learn and grow over the time you have been at Murrayfield and we wish you all every success for your next chapter.
We have had lots of exciting activities taking place over the last few weeks and would like to thank you all for taking the time out of your busy days to support us at our year 6 production of the Lion King, our sports days and most recently our Summer Concert – I think you will all agree that the children did fantastically at these events and they were enjoyed by all involved. We have included some important information in the newsletter including activities for the holidays and dates for the diary, please do take the time to read through. We wish you all an enjoyable and restful summer break and look forwards to seeing you all and welcoming our new reception and nursery children back on Thursday 3rd September.
Yours faithfully
Claire Willis

Dropping off and collecting children
School Collection Time
Please could we kindly remind parents/carers that the end of the school day is 3.15pm. Please could you ensure, where possible, that children are collected at this time and not prior to the end of the school day. We have had an increasing number of children being collected from 2.30pm onwards over the past few weeks and therefore children are missing valuable lesson time.
Playground Etiquette at Drop off and Collection Times
Please could we politely remind adults that drop off and collect children to be mindful of the language used in our playground, particularly around our children. We would also ask that any smoking/vaping is done away from the school site and gates.
Bicycles
Bicycles should be walked through the playground for everyone’s safety. Please could we also remind you that dogs are not allowed in the playground and should be kept away from the dates.
