Murrayfield Newsletter

December 19th 2025

This last half term has flown by and I cannot believe we are now at the end of December!

The children have been really busy with their winter concerts, I think you will all agree how fantastic these were. We have also been privileged to be part of the Gilbert and Sullivan Concert here at Murrayfield, which our choir were part of. This was a fantastic evening so a huge well done to everyone involved.

We have also hosted a number of parent shares, which have been an excellent opportunity for parents/carers to take part in curricular activities with their children.

I hope you enjoy reading what our year groups have been doing and wish you all a peaceful and restful winter break.

Thank you as always for your support this half term and we look forwards to seeing you all back in school on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

Kind regards
Claire

Nut Free School

A polite reminder that we are a nut free school, therefore please do not send your children into school with anything that may contain nuts – including chocolate spreads such as Nutella.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Dropping off and collecting children

School Collection Time

Please could we kindly remind parents/carers that the end of the school day is 3.15pm. Please could you ensure, where possible, that children are collected at this time and not prior to the end of the school day. We have had an increasing number of children being collected from 2.30pm onwards over the past few weeks and therefore children are missing valuable lesson time.

Playground Etiquette at Drop off and Collection Times

Please could we politely remind adults that drop off and collect children to be mindful of the language used in our playground, particularly around our children. We would also ask that any smoking/vaping is done away from the school site and gates.

Bicycles

Bicycles should be walked through the playground for everyone’s safety. Please could we also remind you that dogs are not allowed in the playground and should be kept away from the dates.

Parking

Just a gentle reminder to be considerate when parking in and around the school. Please refrain from parking on double yellow lines outside of the front of the school and at the back of the school. There have been a number of reported incidents of dangerous parking and we need to ensure that we keep our school community safe at this busy time. Your cooperation with this is most appreciated.
